VISION: To build sustainable artisan communities that empower rural ecosystems by making aspirational handcrafted products. Ironstone Pottery under the brand name Nugu Handmade is a social enterprise that makes aspirational handcrafted ceramic dining and décor products for the hospitality and retail markets by building small scale design and production centers in rural India, towards building a global handmade brand while empowering the rural economy. VALUE PROPOSITION: We are the only pottery in India making high-end customizable fine stoneware dining and décor products for both the hospitality as well as retail markets. Each product is designed based on the customer’s needs. The pottery follows a very agile production process. We source 80% of our raw materials locally (hence reducing the carbon impact). Our in-house clay processing ability allows us to control the quality and create strong products fit for commercial use. The in-house modeling and molding department allows us to create new designs in a short lead-time. We also make all our glazes in-house and have a variety of 100 different colors and textures. Our key USPs are: 1. Personalization and Customization: Our agile production facility allows us to create customized product offerings for each B2B client. Our customer-focused approach and personalized designs make us the first choice for discerning design-conscious clients 2. Organic, Eco-Friendly Product: Our eco-friendly and sustainable production techniques make us the first choice for environmentally conscious clients and hotels who have a sustainability mandate. The use of natural minerals & raw materials further ensures that each product is food safe and healthy to eat from. 3. Value for money: Our design-led products are at par with international ceramic brands in quality as well as designs. Yet, they are priced 30 – 40% less than them and this is a real value for money for our high-end clients who were earlier relying on imports. 4. Mastery in Colored Dinner Ware Production: Ceramics production is a highly technical and skilled process. Our experienced team led by Sumanth Sampath, who is an expert in stoneware production, allows us to be at the forefront of innovation as well as technical expertise. 5. Accessibility and Guaranteed Safe Delivery: One of the biggest struggles with ceramic wholesale buyers is to have the products delivered to them safely and without breakages. Our drop-test packaging methodology and logistical support allow us to deliver the products safely to our clients. We are the only pottery that takes a guarantee for delivery pan India. 6. Handcrafted Precision: Each product is handcrafted with precision making it a perfectly crafted handmade. Each Nugu product touches the hands of approximately 20 artisans. PRODUCT OFFERINGS: 1. Dining Solutions: We offer complete dinnerware, serve ware & drinkware solutions for the hospitality as well as retail markets. Our bestseller products are plates, platters, bowls & mugs. 2. Décor Solutions: We do customized bulk orders for décor products like vases, planters for Indian as well as international clients. 3. Cookware Solutions: This product offering is in the R&D stage. We would be launching it in 2021. This would be India’s first pure stoneware cookware range especially designed for Indian cooking.
