PLAN B Foods, one of the fastest growing indigenous food tech companies, on Wednesday, 9th November announced the launch of a complete range of Vegan Cheese along with Vegan Cheese slices (first brand to do that in India). Vegan Cheese Slices have been launched in 2 variants. As per a press release issued by the company the new range of products will include - Vegan Cheddar Slices - Vegan Classic Slices - Vegan Cheddar Block - Vegan Mozzarella Block - Vegan Parmesan Block - Shreds - Parmesan Seasoning Powder Announcing the launch, Rishu Sharma, Co-Founder and Operations head, Plan B Foods said, “Our products come with a promise of taste, quality and offer wholesome health & well-being to consumers considering in mind our motto of not harming any animal lives in the process.” All the Plan B Vegan Cheese products will be available Pan India for customers through different online and off line sales channel from Monday, 14th November 2022 on the occasion of Children’s Day. Chef Rishu Sharma started Plan B Foods in September 2019 as a B2B brand giving product manufacturing solution to several known brands in Indian market. Plan B foods is engaged in manufacturing business of Plant Based Cheese, Sauces, Meat and Butter. Chef Rishu Sharma further added,” Currently we are manufacturing more than 75% of Indian Vegan Cheese from our B2B model for other brands in market. This year one of our clients got Best vegan cheese 2022 award from PETA. Definitely we are doing something good. Considering the potential and seeing customer’s response we decided to enter into B2C sector in order to give premium Vegan Cheese options to customers.” Turned vegan in 2018 Chef Rishu Sharma has always been an animal lover. He said, “As human we exploited nature big time, especially animals. I always wanted to do something for animal welfare. Always tried to find ways to serve them. Then in September 2019 I received an order for a Vegan Cheese Platter from one of my clients. I delivered it and the very next day she had all the praises for me. That was the moment I realised, THIS IS IT. This is my calling. The best way to serve animals. Through creating vegan options for the market by using my full potential as a chef. This was the Inception of PLAN B. At Plan B we are not taking work as a business, its rather service for us. We are trying our best to serve the cause for animal welfare.” Started out with just 2 Employees, in 3 years Plan B now has a 5000 square feet production facility based in Mumbai with over 15 employees. Rishu Sharma is a professional chef and a cook book author, have worked for some renowned brands like Taj Hotels, Starwood chain including a three-star Michelin restaurant “L’Arpège” in Paris, France under legendary Chef Allain Passard. Started with cheese, company has plans to introduce other products like Meat, Sauces, Butter, Curd, Chocolates and Ice-creams in coming years for retail market
