To develop a web accessibility assessment tool ‘Sugam’ that can evaluate the accessibility compliance of the websites. There are millions of people worldwide, who find it challenging to use the Products and Services the way they want to, due to their disabilities. In the internet era, where there is a limited face to face interaction, it is even more important that the websites, applications, technologies, and tools are appropriately designed so that it is accessible to all the users. Many Governments worldwide have started enforcing accessibility standards and protocols so that all the citizens get an equivalent user experience, when they encounter a product or service. Recently Government of India has also started Accessible India Campaign.Sugam will promote this Accessible India Campaign by scanning the websites based on universally accepted accessibility protocols known as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Sugam will report the compliance level of the websites and identify the issues that need to be addressed. In addition to accessibility testing, Sugam will provide business intelligence and proactive analytics insights that will enable the end users to adopt efficient remediation measures for the compliance issues, and take proactive steps to adhere to compliance.
