Nanotechnology allows for both the improvement of existing and the development of completely new products and processes. Nanomaterials have unique size-dependent properties related to their high specific surface area (fast dissolution, high reactivity, strong sorption) and discontinuous properties (such as superparamagnetism, localized surface plasmon resonance, and quantum confinement effect). These specific nanobased characteristics allow the development of novel high-tech materials for more efficient water and wastewater treatment processes, namely membranes, adsorption materials, nanocatalysts, functionalized surfaces, coatings, and reagents. It is crucial to develop an environmental friendly and low - cost method to treat industrial effluent that contains soluble dyes and microbes. Most photocatalysts have, however, been studied using an external light source that increases costs. This study focused on developing efficient solar photocatalytic nanomaterials. My experience: I (Dr. A.B.V. Kiran Kumar) have worked as an Assistant Professor of Nanotechnology at Amity University, India. I have 14 years of post-PhD experience, in nanotechnology research. I have guided 15 M.Tech including one PhD student. I have national and international collaborations. I have published 35 publications and 4 patents (filed). I published on various fields such as nanoantibiotics, sensors, supercapacitors. When I return to India, I initiated three emerging nanotechnology research areas, those are ENERGY, WATER and MEDICINE. As part of research in Energy, I am developing Supercapacitors, in water research to degrade medical pollutants, I work on cost-effective photo catalysts. I've created some preliminary outcomes and have them. As part of medicine research, I am developing nanoantibiotics and membranes for Wound healing applications. I am expanding and planning further financing with my collaborations for the development of techniques.
