Funded startups in India
47,744 of the 4,53,192 companies we publish carry a funding signal, which is 10.5% of the register. This is where they are, and what that signal is actually worth.
What the signal is
Almost all of it is self-declared. The company ticked a box on its own Startup India profile saying it had raised money, and nobody checked. A small minority is attested by somebody other than the company: named on an incubator or investor portfolio, or reported to a state startup scheme. Every company page states which class it holds rather than collapsing them into one word.
We hold no amounts, no round names, no investors and no dates for effectively all of them, so you will not find those anywhere on this site. How we counted.
Where they are
By count. The biggest registers are the biggest here too, which is mostly a statement about where companies register.

Where the signal is densest
The same figure as a share of each district's own register, among districts with 500 or more companies. This is the more interesting ranking: it shows where a funding signal is concentrated rather than where the register simply happens to be large.

About the funding signal
What does "funding signal" mean on this site?
It means at least one source records that this company has taken funding. 47,744 of 4,53,192 companies, 10.5%, carry one. It does not mean we know an amount, a round or an investor, because for almost all of them we do not. Every company page names which class of evidence it has.
Is a funding signal verified?
Usually not. The great majority is self-declared: the company ticked a box on its own Startup India profile and nobody checked it. A much smaller number is named on an incubator or investor portfolio page, or reported to a state startup scheme. Those are stronger, and the company page says which one applies rather than merging them.
Why is there no amount raised?
Because we hold almost none. Rupee amounts exist on a couple of hundred records, all from one state scheme. We deliberately do not license the commercial databases that carry round histories, so this site will never show a valuation, a round name or a lead investor. It shows what the government register actually contains.
Does a funding signal mean the company is still trading?
No. Registration is not an operating signal. A large share of registered startups are dormant, and we have no way to tell you which. A funding signal is a historical record on a form, not a liveness check. We have no filings feed, no revenue data and no check that the company's website still resolves, and we say so on every record.
Every company here has a record with its evidence shown.
