Disclaimer

We publish 4,53,192 startups that we did not create, cannot verify, and do not own. This page says plainly what that means, because the rest of the site is easier to trust once it has been said.

1. We are independent, and we are not the government

Indian Startup Map is published by Apexlayer Technologies, a private company. We are not DPIIT, not Startup India, not the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, not any State government, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of them. Nothing here is an official register, and a page on this site confers no status of any kind.

The authoritative source for any startup's recognition is Startup India itself, and for its corporate filings, the MCA. Where we disagree with them, they are right.

2. We are not the programmes we name

The map colours startups by who is behind them, and the filters and organisation pages name real programmes. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected to any of:

We say a startup is in a programme only where that programme published the fact itself. It is a statement about a public listing, not a relationship we have with anyone, and not a claim that the relationship is current.

3. We do not own any of this data

The startups come from public government sources: the Startup India register, MCA filings, and state startup schemes. Company names, logos and trademarks belong to the companies themselves and are shown to identify them, which is all a name and a logo are doing here. Programme names and marks belong to those programmes. Where each field comes from is itemised, and the data licence says what you may take.

If you own something here and want it changed or removed, write to trust@indianstartupmap.com and we will act on it.

4. The location may be wrong

This is the disclaimer that matters most on a map. A pin is our best reading of an address somebody else filed, and for most startups we do not have an address at all. Of 4,53,192 startups:

A registered office is also frequently a founder's home or an accountant's, so it is not necessarily where the startup works, and it may be a place with no connection to the business at all today. Do not use this site to visit anyone. It is built for research and analysis, not for navigation, doorstepping or delivery.

Maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data via Protomaps. Boundaries are rendered to follow the Survey of India depiction; if you spot a boundary drawn wrongly, tell us and we will fix it as a priority. How we placed every startup.

5. A listing is not diligence

Nothing on this site is investment, legal, tax or business advice, and nothing here is a verification. We do not audit these startups, we have not spoken to them, and we do not know whether any of them still trade. Registration is not an operating signal. A large share of registered startups are dormant, and we have no way to tell you which.

"Funding evidence" on this site means somebody published something. Four startups in five are on the map because they ticked a funding box on a government form that nobody else attests. Treat every figure here as a starting point for your own checks, never as the end of them.

6. The data is a snapshot, and it goes stale

Everything here is from the 2026-08 snapshot. Startups incorporate, move, rename, get struck off and are wound up continuously, and none of that reaches this site until the next refresh. A page being live is not evidence that the startup is.

7. Limitation of liability

The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apexlayer Technologies is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or anything on it, including decisions taken in reliance on it. If that is not acceptable to you, please do not use the site.

8. Telling us something is wrong

Every startup page has a "Something wrong with this startup?" link, and it is read by a person. You can also write to trust@indianstartupmap.com. Corrections that come from the company itself are applied fastest, and a correction to the underlying government source will reach us on its own at the next refresh.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan have exclusive jurisdiction.
