Indian Startup Map Research
The register, read properly.
The free site shows you one company, one district, one industry at a time. The research desk is the same 4,53,192 companies written up: 138 reports across 50 districts, 36 states and 51 industries, and Explore, where every row behind them is queryable.
Registration is not an operating signal. A large share of registered startups are dormant, and we have no way to tell you which. That is true of every number in every report.

Investors and analysts
Every row behind the charts: filter the register by district, industry, stage, evidence class and MCA status, and export it on Pro. 25 rows free on any search, before an account.
Journalists and researchers
Numbers you can cite with a method attached: what the government publishes, what we hold, and the gap between the two, printed side by side in every report.
Incubators and state agencies
Your own portfolio as a list, the Seed Fund ledger per incubator with approvals against disbursement, and the state reports district by district.

Want the whole thing
The full register, older snapshots, or a feed.
A report is one place or one industry, and Explore is capped by plan. If you need every row in one file, the months before this snapshot, a monthly delivery, or a cut built to your own definition, that is a different arrangement and it is priced by conversation. Tell us what you need and what you will do with it, and we will tell you the price.

Questions people ask
What is actually in a report?
Fourteen chapters on one district, state or industry: how the register grew month by month since 2016, what companies declare, legal form and paid-up capital, funding evidence class by class, where inside the place they register, the best-evidenced companies, tax exemption applications, and the government's own count printed beside ours. The whole Lucknow report is open in full, so read one before paying for one.
Where do the numbers come from?
The Startup India register and the public MCA record, as they stood at the August 2026 snapshot, de-duplicated by us. Nothing here is scraped from a company's own site and nothing is estimated. The methodology says how each field is built and the sources page names every origin.
Is this a list of funded startups?
No, and it never says so. A company carries a funding EVIDENCE class: a self-declared checkbox on the government form, a state scheme registration, a place in an incubator or investor portfolio, or a named investor. A checkbox is not money and a scheme registration is not a disbursement, so there is no "funded" boolean anywhere in the product.
Why is one report free?
Because the only honest way to sell a report is to let you read one. Lucknow is the whole thing, every chapter, no account, and every other report has exactly that depth. Judge the free Lucknow report first: the whole thing is open. If your access isn't active within 1 working day of payment, we refund in full: trust@indianstartupmap.com.
Does registration mean the company is trading?
Registration is not an operating signal. A large share of registered startups are dormant, and we have no way to tell you which. We hold no liveness signal of any kind: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. Every report says so in its own methodology chapter.
Can I get the whole register in one file?
Not as a plan. Reports are one place or one industry and Explore is capped per plan; the full set, older snapshots or a monthly feed is a separate arrangement, priced by conversation. Write to trust@indianstartupmap.com with what you need and what you will do with it.
