The early years build the foundation for life. It is marked by rapid cognitive, emotional, social and physical development in children.By the age of five, ninety per cent of human brains are developed as neural connections grow rapidly. While the genes provide the blueprint for the brain, the child’s environment shapes early brain development. The parent and other primary care givers play a crucial role in shaping the right environment to learn skills, to adapt and develop during these years.“In India today, the first five years of life — the most critical period for brain development — are often overlooked. Our business model aims at supporting parents through the child’s early years. This will be done both offline and online. In the online mode, we will develop a platform where every parent can access free and subscribed resources. There will beweekly uploads of content in the form of training and learning videos, play ideas etc. Offline mode will have home visits from trained parent educators/angels who would support the parent in the developmental journey of their child through newborn, toddler and pre-school years.The business will create andcurate developmentally appropriate toys and books, create child friendly homesall of which are geared towards ensuring child’s physical, cognitive and socioemotional development is on track in the first five years. We will trackdevelopmental milestones acrossyears. We will support parents to make the early years a period of fun and play, through positive parenting and play based learning methods.
