ARTICRAFT NETWORK LLP Handicrafts sector in India being an unorganized sector is engaged in the making of semi-finished or finished handmade products. Indian handicraft industry is well known for its quality and unmatchable work. It has made a noticeable impact on the country’s exports too. Only next to the agricultural sector, handicraft industry in India paved the way for over 7 million people for their bread and butter. ARTICRAFT NETWORK LLP is a Mysore-based undertaking engaged in the production and selling of wooden handicraft products like Wooden idols, Mementos, Key holders, Photo frames, Inlay works, Miniatures, Nameplates, small furniture, other corporate and domestic gift items. Setting up of the above-said undertaking is to tackle the common problems of the handicraft sector in general, problems of the local artisans in a particular and with a motive of promoting and uplifting the classical approach of wooden handmade products at large. On the whole, the following problems were identified to which ARTICRAFT NETWORK LLP would be the probable solution at local level, 1. Unemployment of artisans – Skilled personnel who does not have enough capital employment to receive orders and deliver the same. 2. Reliability on imported handicraft products especially from China. 3. Increase in the usage of plastic products- plastic photo frames, key holders, games, etc. consumption is comparatively more in India as it is available at lower prices. The solution to the above problems and uniqueness in solving these problems are discussed as follow, 1. Replacing plastic products by wooden products. 2. Supply of handmade products to the domestic market at a competitive price so that it helps in reducing import of Handicraft products from other countries especially from China. This move supports the “make in India” concept. There is also scope for exporting our products to other countries. 3. Through the integration of local artisans creating employment opportunities. Manufacturing wooden handicraft products in large quantities induce employment. There is also scope for the purchase of handicraft products produced by the local artisans, creating them a wholesale market at their doorstep. 3. Planning to produce in large quantities using modern technology, machines, with traditional art, design, and work. This helps in selling products at a cheaper rate compared to the products of other countries. 4. Customisation makes our products unique. Customizing the design, size, colour as per the customer’s requirement. 5. New product development through recycling using coconut, waste bags, etc., and also aims at producing innovative products based on market trends. 6. Usage of suitable digital marketing platforms such as Apps, websites, WhatsApp, Facebook. Revenue generation is made through different activities. The primary activity is being production and direct selling of our handmade products to wholesalers, retailers, and customers directly. Auxiliary works would be done such as buying and selling Handicraft products from local artisans, selling through E-commerce platforms like Amazon, Meesho, Flipkart, etc., export of handicraft products to other states, and countries.
