DrishtiKit is a healthcare innovation startup tackling India’s silent crisis of avoidable visual impairment affecting over 275 million people by enabling early, community-level detection through a portable, electricity-free vision screening toolkit. Designed for frontline workers like ASHAs and schoolteachers, the kit includes standardized tools to test visual acuity, refractive error (±3.50D), color vision, and macular function, all without needing clinical infrastructure or prior training. What makes DrishtiKit future-ready is its AI-powered mobile application that captures real-time data (even offline), flags suspected cases, and supports health workers with early, informed referrals. The app is GPS-enabled, allowing data to be mapped to specific regions and used to identify local health trends and underserved zones, helping public health stakeholders target interventions more effectively. The app is built using best security practices and ensuringthe privacy of the users. Since launch, DrishtiKit has powered over 15,000 screenings across schools, villages, and health camps, proving its scalability and field-readiness. Built under the Make-in-India initiative, DrishtiKit aligns with Startup India, Ayushman Bharat, NPCBVI, and RBSK, and aims to become the default screening standard in PHCs, schools, Anganwadis, and CSR-led outreach programs.
