ATGC Biotech Pvt.Ltd. is recognized by DSIR, Govt of India, as a R& D company. This Hyderabad based biotech start up leading the way in sustainable agriculture practices with IPM solutions for a greener planet using pheromone based innovations. Their first in class technology provides solution to unmet needs of pest management without using toxic pesticides. Its innovations heralded a No Pump, No Spray, No Water, No Environmental Pollution, No Pest Resistance, and an apply and forget pheromone wax based technology. This breakthrough technology provides a safe and green solution to the farmers to protect the crops from pest attacks which are difficult to manage even using toxic insecticides. The gel based products developed by ATGC are applied once in a month during crop season which leads to preventing population development of insects and their by safeguarding crops from specific pests. The company focuses on Area Wide Management practices in India and abroad using synthetic pheromones portfolio which can transform the current pest management practices adopted in India. Besides, eco-friendly pest management products, the company works on developing honey bee attractants when both used together leads to doubling the farm income. The company has attracted funding from Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT), Dept of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India, US India Science and Technology Endowment Fund (USISTEF) for developing an insect population control method which can be widely deployed in fields in an eco-friendly manner and thus effectively manage pests. ATGC’s innovations are honored by DBT- BIRAC as ‘The Best Innovation of the Year 2017 in Agriculture.’ The company was selected by DIPP, Govt of India for virtual display at Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES 2017). ATGC has been recognized with Aspirer award by IKP Knowledge Park and Top Startup to Look out for 2018 in Bio Asia Summit. Current focus of this startup is to scale up these technologies and make it accessible to farming community for a quality produce which is free from harmful chemicals and thereby making the planet a better place to live.
