Venkateswara Rao, who has done extensive research in the toxicity of pesticides for more than three decades in the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Govt. of India. M/s. BhaPra BioSolutions Pvt. Ltd., primarily focussed on cutting down the amount of pest infestation in the storage of food grains, by developing chemically treated storage bags for food warehousing and transportation. Particularly aimed to produce a novel, reusable insect pest protectant woven/non-woven and knitted plastic HDPE/PP bags incorporated with deltamethrin (an active ingredient) for increasing efficacy by eliminating the contact with neither the grains nor the people managing them and reducing stored-product insect pest-related postharvest losses. A new polymer matrix not only prevents insect entry into bags but also prevent insects inside the bag from escaping, thereby preventing the spread of the infestation. The invention will highly be cheap, cost-efficient, easy to handle, and of course highly safe, eco-friendly, and straight away, eliminating occupational hazards in handling bags in the current practice and prior arts. Secondly, mosquito repellent textiles protect human beings from the bite of mosquitoes and thereby promising safety from the mosquito-borne diseases. Since there is no effective vaccine available for the control of these diseases, the prevention of mosquito bites is one of the main strategies to control or minimize the incidence of these diseases. Hence, BhaPra BioSolutions aimed to develop nano-formulated mosquito repellent clothing for military/security uniforms, with impregnating microencapsulated molecules and oils through the robust methodology.
