Biotherm Flavours and Fragrances Private Limited, are into extraction of Fragrance Oil from Vetiver Plant. Vetiver Oil is used as a fixative and base oil in formulation of high end perfumes which is similar to the sandalwood oil category. Unlike traditional steam/hydro based distillation process, we use novel low temperature based technology and methodology for extraction of vetiver oil. This leads to better aroma profile with no burnt note. Yields 3X of oil output compared to traditional distillation process. The process has been IP protected through Provisional Patent No.: 202341037618 and is in process of filing complete patent. The oil produced by our novel methodology has 10% better signature molecules and 20-30% more long lasting in comparison to market available product. We solve quality issues to the fragrance formulator and try to bridge market shortage demand by bringing sustainability and traceability in our backward operations. We have gained market traction at National level and soon will start exporting to European Countries. To develop this technological process, we are supported by BIG BIRAC DBT grant and AMRITA ELEVATE grant to the tune of INR 6.2 Million. We are into the market with initial and repeated sales. We have established market pull and small market push and in a phase of operational expansion. We operate in B2B sector and our customers are from Bangalore and Mumbai based and we are in discussions with international market players. Our team consists of Dr. Muyeed Ahmed. S, Ph.D in Biotechnology with a decade of experience in biotechnology and agriculture. He takes care of technical and operations part. Mr. Renganathan. V, Chartered Account by profession and Managing Director of one of the largest pen manufacturer in India. He is take cares of management and business development. Mr Syed Uzair, a Qualified Company Secretary. We all as a team strongly believe that fragrance industry has quite large market place
