1. To operate as a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) for Technology establishment and act as a nodal centre for spearheading the activities in the area of Bio-Cyber Physical Systems (Bio-CPS) and other domains in the field of cutting edge research in life science, engineering and technology. 2. To create a strong foundation and a seamless ecosystem for Bio-CPS technologies by coordinating and integrating nationwide efforts encompassing knowledge generation, translation research, technology and product development, technology transfer, human resource development, skill development, innovation and international collaborations. 3. To focus on developing Bio-CPS technologies, novel diagnostic, tools, devices, bio-sensors, biomarkers, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, data security, CPS systems, prototypes and transferring these technologies with application in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, water and environment, thereby contributing to various sustainable development goals, national policies/ programmes and other development objectives. 4. To establish Bio-CPS incubator and promote entrepreneurship by incubating and nurturing the translation of ideas and innovations emerging from scientific technological and knowledge capital to create a social impact and to contribute to the economic development by job creation and social well-being of the region and country by building the necessary infrastructure for creation and translation of technology to market readiness by supporting adoption of it by existing ventures and creation of start-ups ventures, and by creating networks between academia, industry and financial institutions and other such assistance as required. 5. The TIH will conduct skill development and education programmes for various target segments such as industry professionals, students, faculty, etc. Fellowship programmes (UG/ PG/ PhD) in Bio-CPS will be offered and supported by the TIH. Faculty fellowships and Chair Professorships shall also be offered by the TIH.
