Higher education system plays an important role in a country’s overall development which includes industrial, social, economic etc. The role of higher educational institutes such as colleges and universities in the present time is to provide quality based education in the field of education, research etc. to empower youth for self-sustainability. Next to China and United States, India has the third largest higher education system in the world in terms of size and its diversity and largest in the world in terms of number of educational institutions. There are 864 universities, 51,695 colleges, 36mm students with 3.4% yoy growth. One of the critical challenges which higher education system is facing is inadequate technical infrastructure and facilities. Apart from the highly recognized higher educational institutes in India most of the colleges and universities lack in the proper technical infrastructure. There is a need to implement innovative and transformational approach to make Indian educational system globally more relevant and competitive. Our venture Cunomial with its cloud based digital and integrated platform with its suite of products for higher education institutions is trying to digitally empower institutions to be more effective in today’s pedagogical arena. Cunomial will foster collaboration and provide access to learning material from anywhere anytime resulting in increased opportunities to learn. The platform will also provide avenues to encourage on-campus jobs, which are known to enhance employability. Digital transactions, accounting systems and people management products will not only increase the efficiency but will also generate intelligence to respond to market needs faster. We are building Cunomial as cloud based, cost-effective and highly available digital platform. Presently the product is focused on four modules – Learn, Work, Pay and Manage. Learn will have features related to course management, work will focus on career development centres, pay will focus on invoices, payments and online student loans and manage will focus on human capital management 1/ Learn will focus on course planning, scheduling, content dissemination and evaluation. 2/ Work will focus on digitizing career development centres, where placement officers can post jobs, solicit applications and filter profiles which currently do not have resources for career planning, advise, job search or managing interviews. 3/ With Pay, administrators can generate invoices digitally and students can make payments online, and financial support or loan can be obtained online. 4/ With Manage, institution can manage workforce, on-board students, staff and teachers, manage pay and benefits, apply for leaves and manage attendance and time The architecture of the product suite is driven by single sign-on principles, ensuring user details are shared across the products. The gateway design of the product suite enables Cunomial to transparently add new products.
