In their own words

Plant tissue culture is a simple technique and an important tool in both basic and applied sciences and ever ready tool for biotechnologists. It involves asexual methods of propagation as its primary goal is improvements of crops. In this method, a small piece of explant is isolated from any part of a plant and cultured aseptically on a defined artificial nutrient media under in vitro conditions. Clonal propagation in vitro is called micropropagation. Micropropagation has emerged as an important biotechnology tool to multiply elite varieties of high quality, disease free and high yielding plants rapidly in the laboratory irrespective of the season of the year. It involves the use of biotechnological methods to grow large numbers of plantlets from a very small piece of plants, often from single cells. India has a wide range of climatic and soil conditions which enables the cultivation of an array of horticultural crops, floricultural plants, plantation crops, spices, medicinal and aromatic plants. The impact of tissue culture technology in bridging the gap between the demand and supply could be exemplified by banana. It is now almost certain that only this technology can help in catering to the needs of quality planting material of banana. Banana is being cultivated about 500,000 hectares of area in India with an average productivity of about 15 kg of yield per plant. However, by replacing the conventional methods of use of suckers with tissue cultured plantlets, the productivity can be enhanced to about 50 kg/plant from the same area. At present, India is the largest producer of banana in the world with about 30% of total global production. With increased productivity/unit area, the export capabilities can certainly be improved. This is possible by adopting the cultivation with virus indexed and tissue cultured plants instead of using the conventional plant material.

Funding signals

We hold evidence classes, not events. There is no amount and no date here because we do not have them, and a class says only where the company was named. 52 of the 342 records in Tirupati carry a signal of some class.

How a signal gets onto a record

The neighbourhood

This record carries no locality line, so the district is the finest ring we can place it in.

What we do not know

We have no liveness signal for any company on this site: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. A record existing here means a record exists, not that a business is trading.

Is this your company?

Everything here comes from public government records. If something is wrong, the authoritative place to correct it is the Startup India portal itself, and we will pick the correction up on the next monthly snapshot.
