In today’s world, transportation has become one of the prime requirements of people for moving self or goods from one place to another. Mobility has thus become an essential part of our lives with many developments and improvements happening in this field. Because of the changing lifestyle of today’s world, there is a huge reduction in the level of interactions within the people group. In these conditions, it becomes more difficult for physically challenged people to commute and to perform their day to day activities like working, education, shopping, etc. as they have to constantly depend on others for getting assistance to alight and board the vehicle. We interacted with 20 disabled dependents to understand the difficulties they face due to their condition. So, we designed a feasible solution in the form of a user-friendly three-wheeled semi-automatic vehicle called Tri-Hog, which allows physically challenged people to commute on their own and perform their activities without anyone’s assistance. The purpose is to enable the poor and disabled to become independent. Tri-Hog Patent application no. 201811022293. Tri-Hog uses rigid structure and versatile features that offer flexibility reduces efforts required for disabled to move and provides the poor and disabled with the opportunity to earn a livelihood by tapping into last mile needs of densely populated zones. Tri-hog is specially designed for physically handicapped. Tri-hog is semi-automatic; users have a choice to drive it manually or by the motor. The paddle of the tri-hog is completely adjustable. Users have a choice to drive his tricycle by his hand or by his legs. Also, the seat is completely adjustable; which helps the user to board and deboard the vehicle.
