ELECTRIP PRIVATE LIMITED
Sector 49, Haryana
In their own words
ELECTRIP PRIVATE LIMITED is private limited company incorporated on 16th july 2020. We are in the middle of a revolution that is waiting around the corner. Low cost renewable power (electricity) will replace fossil fuels. One reason is that power (electricity) offers opportunities, viz. cheaper transport, higher energy efficiency in powering automobiles and lowers environmental costs, amongst many others. Our main issue today is that there are headwinds against moving to this technology. 1) Initial cost is high due to the Lithium Ion battery comprising almost 60% of the total cost of vehicle 2) Range is a worry for most people who do longer distances on a daily basis (currently distances are capped at 200 – 250 km per charge 3) Time of charging is high (almost half a day on a normal charger) Current technology does not help indigenous manufacture and low Indian reserves of lithium will increase cost of procurement in the long run to the country (not much unlike Oil) Petrol bunks are likely to get redundant as electric demand goes up. They must look at alternate business models within electric mobility to improve their ROI. Swap-able batteries are one such revenue source. Solar as a medium to charge swap-able batteries allows them to convert to renewable sources of energy which are more dependable to maintain and environmentally safer. Most automobile companies have invested in their own battery form factors which hampers standardization and swapping of battery cells to other manufacturers. If batteries are swap-able (plug and play model), then they can pool available resources to power their vehicles collectively. • A concerted effort has to be made to sell a common battery form factor to the biggest players in the automobile sector • Electrip is in a position to increase capacity by 3x in sodium ion batteries which are the best alternative to Li-ion batteries currently available. Sodium is freely available in India at all coasts and we can set up a manufacturing plant contributing to “Make in India” and the “Clean Energy Green Energy” program. Consumers will have a lower entry price into automobiles, incentivising them to change to electric. Secondly although their “energy” costs in comparison to Fossil fuel vehicles may come down by ~30%, their maintenance costs will drop significantly by 90%. This venture will bring together stakeholders from automobile companies, petroleum retail points, R&D technology centers, logistics partners building a large infrastructure to free India from cumbersome pollution and a greener environment
