With the blessing of Science, our lifestyle is more dependent on technologies which unfortunately call on several diseases. To fight these diseases people generally relies on allopathic medicine, which contributes numerous side effects. Worldwide, scientists and WHO, have been trying to address these issues by implementing herbal medicines with its proven safety, efficacy and sustainability. WHO estimated that 80% of the world’s population dependent on traditional medicines for their primary health care needs (Karunamoorthi et al. 2013, J ECAM, 18(1) 67-74). Although India is bestowed by having huge varieties of herbal medicinal plants, but recent market report suggests only 0.5% share of India’s export to the global market during 2015-2016 (the economic times, 2016). The current valuation of Indian herbal market is at Rs 5000 crore with an annual growth of 14 % (Yourstory, 2018). There are several challenges still remains associated with it, like lack of standardized documentation of processing materials, improper handling/storage, and most importantly maintaining the quality etc. Our main focus is to supply quality medicinal plants/products/extracts based on Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM). Our intentions to involve rural farmers and tribal people for the cultivation/collection of quality herbs by good agriculture practice (GAP) that will help to improve their livelihood and sustainability as well as to generate new employment opportunity. Our aim is to develop a strong supply chain management for domestic and international market with strong marketing strategies including digital marketing to generate foreign currency revenue.
