Enterprise: Enersol Biopower Pvt.Ltd.| Rajasthan Start-up Enterprise recognition certificate - DIPP8269 Innovator: Rai Singh Dahiya | Rajasthan Bio-Mass Gasifier System It is a down draft type biomass gasifier, a compact and efficient system for converting biomass into producer gas which is used as a fuel for running diesel engine, needing little modification in the engine. The biomass is burnt in a furnace packed from all sides and having one outlet to pass the gases to another chamber where these gases are cooled and then passed through the filter for filtration. This filtered gas is then fed to the engine, as a substitute to diesel or other fuel, for its running. Innovation lies in non-conventional design, a compact gasifier surrounded by water jacket with the arrangement of two-stage filters and cooling unit, small size, portability, soundproof and accepts a variety of fuel as input to get clean gas, ensuring smooth operation of the engine at low operational cost. It’s a sustainable technology as agricultural waste could be transformed for power generation. In terms of variety of fuel that this innovative technology supports which make it universal, all kind of feedstock is accepted by machine i.e. stalks of cotton, pluses; coconut shells ,coconut palm stalks; maize cobs, branches & twinges; briquettes of various agricultural residues; rice husk; industrial wastes of paper mills, plywood industry; Briquettes of tamarind husk etc. Beneficiaries in society at large include but not limited to villages (for electrification), mobile infrastructure / tower industries (for replacing diesel generator), agro-based industries (for alternative sources of power), operate pump sets in remote fields, lift water in homes, operate basic machines etc. Other potential applications are resorts, hotels, cocoa and copra mills, Fruit and Vegetable processing facilities saw mills, flour mills etc., Cotton based textile and allied industries can readily utilise the device for clean energy generation, Mobility and noiseless operation make the device highly suited for domestic use, Noiseless operation has been an advantage for this machine for installing in hospitals. Clean gas is generated from the gasifier, making downstream cleaning systems simple. Doesn't need continuous flow of water, easy to operate, practically no extra training is required. The innovator was conferred with an award during 5th National Grassroots Innovation and Outstanding Traditional Knowledge Awards, 2009
