In their own words

With FertilityDost we aim to change the way people manage fertility and the way society looks at this issue. I am Gitanjali Banerjee, Founder of FertilityDost and for 10 years I died a little bit everyday struggling with infertility. And so do 33 million people in India who endure physical, emotional, financial, social and medical harassment during their fertility journey. 1 in every 4 couple. From a bird’s eye perspective fertility might just look as a problem in achieving motherhood. However, the truth is that it begins much earlier, goes unattended due to ignorance & social stigma and escalates into chronic problems at a later stage. The problem is that- we don’t know how to nip it in the bud itself or manage the critical initial steps effectively. Introducing FertilityDost that offers a unique digital platform where users can meet their fertility goals. We have touched 50,000 women & couples through our online and offline presence. Collaborated awareness campaigns with The Times Of India, Times Now, CNBC Awaaz, Your Story. Our main product , Map My Fertility, is an online screening tool that combines results from 11 fertility marker tests, behavioural patterns & lifestyle parameters to provide a Fertility health evaluation profile of the user. This is our proprietary algorithm. Now this information along with our holistic platform enables women to make smart decisions about their reproductive health. We follow predict, assess, and improve methodology inbuilt into our personalized program led by fertility experts & counsellors to handhold the user in their fertility journey. Being accessible from home it takes care of social taboos Saves 50% of cost and time otherwise spent at doctor consultations and tests. And most importantly, it alerts you at the preventive stage thereby saving you from the cost & complications of IVF treatment. Our initial main target audience is corporate women and couples who are keen for preventive health measures and young couples trying to conceive. However, couples into the fertility journey and initial IVF phases will be our natural fallout segment. We already have 5000 subscribers and 20 paid members, 5 B2B contracts whom we used as POC. The global fertility market is at $ 2 billion and to get a rough idea of market in India, there are 2 lakh IVF cycles done every year and each cycle is Rs 1.5 lakh each. And IVF is the last resource of fertility issue. An average couple spends around 4 to 6 lakhs in this journey. So, the serviceable market that we are looking at as our first milestone is first level physical consultation and they will also be our early adopters. For example, we did primary research and concluded that first line of consultation & diagnosis market of Delhi is around 2 lakh consultations every month. However, we will be able to make the real social impact when we bring a health habit of prevention and access to information. 1 in every 6 girl goes through PCOS and this is one of the main reasons of reproductive health issues at a later stage but adolescent girls due to social taboos don’t seek timely help and intervention. Through our platform we aim to impact at that level. Our revenue model is really simple. We focus on selling Map My Fertility program and Advertising and consumer research lead income model in the B2B segment As for our competition, there are many fertility trackers and general pregnancy information websites in the market. However, our unique advantage over them is our niche, branding, personal trust because of my story, and most importantly the holistic approach methodology with provision to overcome social taboos by making it self-care, from home, friendly approach. To scale up, we aim to do it vertically by penetrating into tier 3 and below cities through a model of tele-health and horizontally by implementing dedicated platforms for male fertility where we have begun research work, and PCOS. We have won several grants and awards from IIT Delhi, Zone Startups Mumbai, The Do School Germany, Techamp by US Department of Public Affairs. We have been published about in The Times of India, Your Story, Times Now, CNBC Awaaz. I want to end this by saying that fertility is a real problem and we aim to make the impact at the root level aiming to bring a behaviourial & perception change. And, for this we need support. Pledge to Be a Fertility Dost and help us bring a positive health & social change.
