NewsCode “As Local As Your Pincode” is a hyperlocal news platform that ensures the delivery of reliable news that is locally relevant, locally generated and delivered in respective local languages over various digital platforms. NewsCode, enables access to real time, hyper-local news customized up to the granularity of a pincode, aimed primarily at tier 3, 4 towns and villages of India. NewsCode utilizes the services of 120+ local reporters in Jharkhand and 8k+ local village level entrepreneurs that focus on news that is not covered by larger mainstream news outlet and enable a conversation around socially pertinent local issues. A robust editorial team comprising of 20 editors ensures the delivery of reliable and verified news that is delivered with adequate pace to the audience. In the age of fake news – this process forms a key tenet of our guiding principle where we believe credibility and respect are worth more than popularity. We believe in responsiveness and engagement as central functions towards driving tangible social impact at a local level. In this effort NewsCode has taken up issues of malnutrition, financial literacy, health schemes and AIDS awareness among others to ensure a conversation about the improvement areas in these sectors and create awareness of the unheard of great work undertaken locally in these fields. With 2 million+ people consuming news across its various platforms each month NewsCode presents itself as a unique micro-targeting communication tool for information dissemination and driving social impact at a district, tehsil and even a pincode level.
