ForMeds is an integrated digital platform built exclusively for verified healthcare professionals in India, addressing a structural gap in the healthcare workforce ecosystem.The problem: India has 0.7 doctors per 1,000 people against the WHO minimum of 1 per 1,000. 74% of graduate doctors practise in urban areas serving only ~28% of the population. Community Health Centres — the backbone of rural care — operate with a ~80% specialist shortfall (4,413 filled against 21,964 sanctioned posts). Simultaneously, healthcare professionals manage their careers across multiple disconnected platforms — one for jobs, another for networking, another for education — with hospitals arranging emergency locum cover informally through phone calls and WhatsApp groups.Our solution: ForMeds unifies six functions into a single verified platform — a job portal for permanent and contract roles, on-demand locum booking with rostering and shift management, specialist scheduling for small-town and rural clinics, a learning hub with CME and certification courses, a professional networking feed with case discussion forums, and AED, an AI clinical assistant supporting drug dosing, interactions and differential diagnosis queries.Technology and innovation: The platform is cloud-native with credential verification for closed-network access, algorithmic matching for locum and specialist placement, integrated calendar and payment rails for clinic-to-specialist consults, and an AI-assisted clinical query layer. It replaces four to five standalone tools with one secure system — an integration no existing Indian platform offers.Traction: 1,000+ healthcare professionals engaged in our pre-launch community, 200+ registered for early access ahead of launch, and a working prototype deployed. Growth to date has been entirely organic through professional networks and referrals.Scale and impact: Addressable base of 13 lakh+ registered doctors and 30 lakh+ nurses and allied staff. Year-1 targets: 10,000 verified professionals and 1,000 structured locum placements. Longer term, connecting 500+ rural clinics to specialist access reduces the need for patients to travel to cities — where a rural family currently spends 3–5× the treatment cost on travel and lodging alone.Revenue model: Multi-sided — subscription for professionals, tiered monthly plans for clinics and hospitals, per-consult booking fees, and revenue share on courses and certifications.
