The Company, GIRIRAJ OBERTHUR SECURITY FEATURES INDIA PVT.LTD. is being set up to manufacture sophisticated security features for use in banknotes and other high security documents like passports, national ID cards, driving licences, automobile registration documents, university/school certificates, high value property title deeds, etc. The immediate object would to manufacture security threads those are currently in use in Indian banknotes. As the government/the RBI would upgrade the security threads in the Indian banknotes, the company would be well positioned to domestically manufacture such threads including the recently introduced threads based on moving micro lens platform. The domestic manufacture of such threads would be a first for India, would be an import substitution item making India among the very small group of countries with this capability. The Company also would have the capability to integrate the moving image features in a polycarbonate substrate without losing it’s features/characteristics. This offering would meet the requirements of the MEA for integration in the Indian passports, national ID cards, D/L’s, automobile registration cards, etc. The Company also intends to make fifth generation taggants for use in high security documents, brand protection, etc. The use of such taggants would expand significantly going forward with new areas of usages emerging, thereby offering vast scalable opportunities
