An Indo-American partnership, this Startup aims to reduce healthcare costs of our population by focusing on dietary inflammation and its effects on chronic diseases. “Dietary Inflammatory Index” (DII) is a novel evidence-based research tool which has been used with great success to describe the inflammatory potential of one’s diet. It has the potential to predict various chronic inflammation-related diseases. The Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII®) was developed in light of growing understanding of the relationship between inflammation and health outcomes and a deepening appreciation of the role in diet modulating inflammation. Inflammation is now known to provide a substrate for a wide variety of health-related mechanisms ranging from very short-term immune responses to environmental insults to chronic disease outcomes including cancer, heart disease and type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM). We will be using this tool to validate and certify food components and ingredients on an Inflammatory Scale for existing food processing and products manufactures in India, provide scientific application enabled tools that can provide inflammatory score for an individual and provide suggestions to balance/decrease inflammation, provide dietary counselling systems, initiate wellness programs, run certification courses for dietitians, physicians and nutritionists, dietary prescriptions, and production of food products that reflect an optimal level of anti-inflammation food compounds as per daily human dietary inflammation needs. We aim to deliver clinically proven approach to reduce chronic illness in India by reducing dietary inflammation and thereby reduce healthcare costs of its population.
