Cause to the goal Past decade has witnessed significant media coverage to ban use of plastic, styrofoam and other non biodegradable material. Plastic and Styrofoam cutlery is one of the top 3 contributors to waste. Over the past 2 to 3 years, alternative products with various base raw materials like areca nut, bamboo, coconut etc have been identified. However, each product has shortcomings. Solution Two friends, Ruben John Jose and Rajesh Dhinagaran researched for alternatives and have derived a formula which allows husk to be used for manufacturing 100% biodegradable cutlery. The manufacturing equipment is also developed indigenously. Raw material available in abundance is currently used in briquettes and cattle feed. Using this for cutlery, provides a better economical alternative to the farmer and consumer. Ruben and Rajesh incorporated Heiser Herbal Ranges Private Limited on 18 June 2018 to take their vision forward!!!
