In their own words
1. IDEATIONHemoTrack originated from the observation that, despite advancements in healthcare infrastructure, blood logistics and coordination continue to rely heavily on fragmented communication channels such as phone calls, messaging applications, and manual documentation. During emergency situations, hospitals often face challenges in identifying available blood units, coordinating with multiple blood banks, arranging transportation, and tracking deliveries in real time. These operational inefficiencies can increase administrative burden and delay the movement of critical blood components. Recognizing this gap, HemoTrack was conceptualized as a technology-driven digital platform that connects hospitals, blood banks, delivery partners, volunteers, and government authorities through a unified ecosystem. The objective is not to replace existing healthcare systems but to strengthen coordination through secure digital workflows, real-time logistics visibility, GPS-enabled delivery tracking, IoT-based cold-chain monitoring, automated documentation, and centralized dashboards. The vision is to build a scalable digital infrastructure capable of improving transparency, operational efficiency, and emergency preparedness across the blood logistics ecosystem.2. VALIDATIONThe concept has been validated through extensive secondary research, discussions with healthcare stakeholders, and analysis of existing blood management workflows. Regulatory guidelines issued by the National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC), National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), World Health Organization (WHO), and the National Blood Policy were reviewed to understand current operational practices and identify opportunities for digital transformation. In addition to research, the HemoTrack concept has evolved through participation in national innovation platforms, where constructive feedback from mentors and industry experts helped refine the product vision, stakeholder workflow, and business model. A working web platform has been designed with dedicated interfaces for hospitals, blood banks, delivery partners, volunteers, and administrators. Comprehensive documentation, including a research and development concept note, technical architecture, and business strategy, has also been prepared to support pilot implementation and future collaborations with healthcare institutions.3. EARLY TRACTIONHemoTrack has progressed from an initial concept to a structured HealthTech startup with a clearly defined product roadmap. A functional web application is currently under development, featuring role-based modules for hospitals, blood banks, delivery partners, volunteers, and government administrators. The startup has also developed a comprehensive research concept note, investor pitch deck, business model, and technical documentation to support institutional engagement. The project gained national-level recognition as a Top 100 Grand Finalist in the College Youth Ideation (CYI), selected from more than 45,000 participating teams across India. This recognition validated the relevance of the problem being addressed and provided valuable mentorship to strengthen the solution. HemoTrack is currently preparing for pilot deployments and engaging with hospitals, blood banks, healthcare professionals, and government stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships for real-world implementation.4. SCALINGHemoTrack is designed as a scalable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform with a phased expansion strategy. The initial deployment will focus on pilot implementations with hospitals and blood banks in Odisha to validate workflows, user adoption, and operational performance. Based on pilot outcomes, the platform will expand across districts, followed by state-wide deployment through partnerships with healthcare institutions, NGOs, and government agencies. The platform's modular architecture supports seamless integration with Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS), Blood Bank Management Systems (BBMS), GPS services, IoT devices, and approved digital health platforms through secure APIs. Future development includes AI-powered demand forecasting, predictive logistics, advanced analytics, and enhanced cold-chain monitoring using the proprietary MedTek Box concept. The long-term vision is to establish HemoTrack as a nationally scalable digital blood logistics infrastructure that improves coordination, transparency, and operational efficiency while supporting India's digital healthcare transformation.
