These modes of transport use fuels like petrol and diesel that emit carbon dioxide and other harmful chemicals in the air. An ignored threat for years, this has now become the most significant cause of air pollution. Motor vehicles are a significant source of urban air pollution and are increasingly important contributors of anthropogenic carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Transport sector contributes a major sector, contributing 90% of total emissions. Air pollution is a serious environmental health threat to humans
