Brief explanation of project- Indian’ supply chain and logistic industry costs currently 14% of the GDP at a massive 300 billion $ ,compared to the global average of approximately 8% and its growing at CAGR 10.5 percent per annum . a report by Arthur D. Little India released in collaboration with CII According to the report, there is a competitiveness gap of $180 billion in the sector, and this is expected to increase to $500 billion by 2030 if the inefficiencies in the supply chain are not addressed. The World Bank Logistics Index released in 2018, for instance, ranked India 44th-far behind the US at 14 and China at 26. Other countries in the region, such as Thailand and Vietnam, also have high logistics costs. Percentage of role of different modes of transportation in Indian logistic industry is- Road consisting – 25-30% Railway consisting- 50-55 % Waterway consisting- 20-25% There are 80 lakh truck registration in india and 50 lakh truck are on the road going one part to another part of the country, which means 50 lakh trucks are booked daily for loading either directly or through the brokers . The reason for high cost of transportation is absence of proper use of technology, poor infrastructure, inefficiency, brokers and unorganized state of the industry. 90% of the industry is unorganized(90% of the truck owners having less than 6 trucks) 5 million trucks are owned by 2 million Brokers charge 5% to 30% brokerage on truck booking which is very high and truckers have to wait 2-3 days to get return load for their truck Due to role of brokers in industry and their high brokerage truck owners get very low fare price and factory owners have to pay very high for the same, the reason for this is absence of proper platform to connect both of them. Our role in this 1. We created an app based platform to connect manufacturing units and transporters, our platform consists of two apps one for factory owners and another for truck owners. Factory owners can publish details of the load (goods) which they want to transport and truck owners can see the load(goods) on their app , truck owners can bid the amount of fare they want to offer. 2. We charge brokerage of 5% on the booking amount above 20000 and fixed fee of 1000 for bookings below 20000
