In their own words
I lead a family business of cultivating premium quality organic mangoes and selling them directly to consumers through retail outlet. Further, last season we also sold the produce online, through e-commerce. Having said that, I would like to create a marketplace where certified farmers engaging in high-quality, hormones free production of mangoes, can directly sell their produce to consumers through our marketplace. Further, consumers can rate their experience with the seller on the marketplace post-consumption. This way, an alternative virtual farmers' market would be created by eliminating middlemen, that shall give the mango farmers a higher price for their produce and in turn encourage them to engage in best cultivation practices which would enable them to maintain a superior quality of produce.
