Tinsel was founded in the year 2018 and is currently one of the well-known brands in luxury hand-woven wedding wear market in the North-eastern region of India. Authentic hand-woven customizable designer attires with contemporary trending designs and colour combinations can fetch an extremely high premium in the luxury ethnic wear market especially bridal and groom wear. Lot of unorganized players exist currently but there is no single brand with a strong value proposition of authentic, customizable, eco-friendly handloom products in this space. Euromonitor International forecasts that India’s $1 billion luxury fashion segment will register a 20.3% compounded annual growth rate over the next five years. And for the leading luxury fashion designers of India, Bridal and Groom wear collections not only contribute to majority of their sales in terms of value but also has the highest margins. Tinsel wants to be the national leader in this highly profitable and competitive niche by building a deep knowledge of Indian wedding traditions and themes, incorporating unique latest designs in handloom cards, training weavers to adopt better techniques and marketing their products aggressively to the relevant customer base. We exist to serve a two-fold purpose: Help weavers to earn a decent livelihood and preserve their rare art and at the same time, bring a unique and authentic selection to the customizable designer ethnic wear market.
