The I-Bird is a bird and wildlife promoting organization that provides leadership to Indian birders by increasing their knowledge, skills, and enjoyment of birding and acknowledging their efforts at a national level. We are the only organization in India that explicitly promotes birdwatching, along with bird photography. We also contribute to bird and bird habitat conservation through our varied efforts. Vision All communities in India understand, promote, value, and protect birds, other wildlife, and their habitat. Mission The Indian Birding Association (I-Bird) inspires and connects all people in India to enjoy and protect wild birds and nature. The Indian Birding Association represents the Indian birding community from all levels. It supports birders through its website, media, conferences, seminars, workshops, supported tours, field trips, partnerships, advocacy, stewardship, networks, and research. The I-Bird’s educational programs and training will promote birding skills, ornithological knowledge, bird watching, and the development of conservation and environmental ethics. The I-Bird encourages diversity and all birder’s from all age groups apply their skills to help conserve birds and their habitats. The I-Bird will recognize efforts of Indian Birders yearly on set norms to promote birding in India. I-Bird Code of Ethics At the core of I-Bird lies the concern for the conservation of birds in the wild, encompassing everything we do. I-Bird has developed a code of ethics for birding shared on our website and other social platforms. The I-Bird encourages all birders to follow these ethics guidelines in words and spirit to conserve birds in the wild and the integrity of birding. I-Bird will not discriminate against their members by virtue of race, creed, age, gender, sexual orientation, class, color, or physical and mental health or ability but will nurture their greater participation.
