Sportido is a sports discovery platform that helps users find people and places to play 700+ sports around them. The two biggest pain points are that either people can’t find players to play with or they can’t find venues to play at. Sportido is a free app on Android and iOS that includes a social network for users to find and interact with each other and it lists various service providers like grounds, courts, trainers, gyms etc in the user’s area. To create an engaging user experience, the app automatically recommends players, service providers as well as new sports to try out based on their location, interests and profile. Sportido also helps the service providers increase business by reaching out to prospective customers and even identifying more business opportunities by analysing demand-supply gaps in their region. Our core revenue model is to charge commissions on bookings made through the app. Our aim is to grow the industry by increasing participation in Sports and Fitness activities. The more users join us, the more they play, the more services and products they buy, the faster the industry grows. The Indian sports and fitness participation industry is estimated to grow by 20% to $603m in 2021. We have 15,000+ users in Delhi/NCR and we aim to expand to other cities by July 2018 and launch internationally by late 2019. Within 5 years of operation, we aim to cross 10 million downloads. Our vision is to enable everyone to “play any sport anywhere”.
