Urban households in India generate over six crore tonnes of garbage every year, of which a whopping 85 percent is recyclable. Unfortunately, most of this waste ends up in landfills, polluting the soil, air, and water. While waste handling is a huge problem, it is also a large opportunity in India. Waste Management Involves process of collection, transportation, dumping, recycling where in lots of problems are associated with waste disposal. Most landfills lack proper on-site waste management thereby contributing to additional threats to the environment.. They also potentially create atmospheric pollution too. Also, the laws and regulation guiding the operations of landfills are often lax at monitoring and regulating the different types of wastes namely medical waste, municipal waste, special waste or hazardous waste. This startup is attempting all the above issues through the use of unique technology. The waste is proposed to be destroyed at individual locations reducing the MSW by 1/200th of its actual volume fed to the machine ; leaving an inhert ceramic ash for use in landfills and other potent applications. New Startup Introduces, a new innovative product/machine called "SWATCH" to destruct any organic waste collected at source without using any power/fuel for continuous destruction. This revolutionary product works on the principle of low temperature Pyrolisis process at a temp of 350 to 400 deg which is driven by magnet based technology. Swatch, can be used for destruction of non-segregated reject waste, domestic waste, specific industrial waste including plastic bags, waste tyres, vegetable wastes, card boards, garden leaves, oil choked cotton & slaughter house waste. It has a capacity to reduce the output of destructed waste in the ratio of 1/200th times. SWATCH system is a solution for decentralized processing of MSW after recovering certain amount of recyclables and removable of in organic material like steel , glass & building waste. Swatch systems are available in a capacity from 50KG/day to 2 tonne /day which are more suitable for small and medium scale waste generators like Apartments, Commercial Complexes, Corporate, Cinema houses, Gated communities, Wards in Municipalities & Panchayats, etc. • NO SEGRAEGATION - Mixed Solid Waste (MSW) containing mixer of both dry and wet waste generated from households are suitable • DECOMPOSITION AT SOURCE - De-Centralized and Scientific method of Disposal which avoids Costly logistics to transport the waste to landfills. • PATENTED TECHNOLOGY. Swatch system is patented in India for Technology, Design and Process. • THD METHOD - Operates in low temperature Thermal Heat Destruction (THD) method. • SMALL FOOTPRINT - A small floor space depending on the system size sufficient to accommodate SWATCH system anywhere close to source. • QUICK & FAST - Decomposition of waste takes place at a faster rate in 8 hours period for single batch load. • USER FRIENDLY simple operation and easy to load, MSW garbage bags can be loaded 2-3 times a day as such collected from households • MOISTURE CONTENT of the MSW recommended less than 40% for optimum decomposition. No liquids in food waste are acceptable which will harm the speed of decomposition process • NO POLLUTION, NO FLAMES, NO DIOXINS - Does not produce any flames, thus generating dioxins and other poisonous gases are eliminated, even when plastics and PVC are processed • MASSIVE VOLUME REDUCTION - Reduces the output by 95-98 % from the amount of the input waste loaded. • BY PRODUCT - Small volume of normal Ash of about just 1-2% of the input waste which can be taken to landfills • CAN'T DECOMPOSE such inorganic substances such as glasses, metal, sand, soil, ceramics etc., • OPERATIONAL STANDARDS are compatible to the norms and standards set by the Central and State Pollution Control Boards (CPCB) • ECO FRIENDLY - A total ECO FRIENDLY and 100% Environment compliance product. Revenue is generated for the startups through sales of the Swatch machines to various designated customers in the Public and Private sectors. Industrial use has also been established towards keeping the individual housing estates of large industries free from waste & clean environment. Swatch Bharath Abhyan objectives can be truly complied with this machine/technology due to tis user friendly handling & maintenance. Further revenue potential is generated through long term AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) and supply of replacement of spare parts. Manufacturing plants to be located at various locations and are support outsourcing will help contain logistics cost and enhance potential for local employment.
