Our innovation is an autonomous robotic solar panel cleaning system that combines EdgeAI, IoT, and cloud-based monitoring to improve the efficiency, reliability, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) installations. Unlike conventional robotic cleaners that operate only on fixed schedules, our system continuously monitors its own health using onboard sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, current sensor, rain sensor, PIR sensor, and temperature sensor. Sensor data is processed locally through EdgeAI algorithms to detect anomalies, and enable predictive maintenance before breakdowns occur, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
