As a global pandemic (Covid-19) wreaks is affecting millions of lives, directly and indirectly, one may be left wondering if there was a way in which we could have protected ourselves better. The global economy states at a recession that could be worse than the one in 2008. All the major industries including healthcare, manufacturing, IT services, Hospitality, petrochemical, automobile, and banking took a major hit resulting in a financial crisis. With millions of jobs projected to be lost and spending capacity of the average consumer reach new lows, there is a huge concern over the chances of the economy bouncing back soon. The implications of COVID-19 have surpassed any statistical prediction done in recent times. As all the major drug developers immersed themselves in coming up with a vaccine, the rest of the world in trying to come up with preventive measures to cope with the situation. Wearing face masks, washing hands frequently mandatory temperature checks and the use of hand sanitization may be sufficient to keep the virus at bay, they are not enough to return the business activities to normal. Many businesses are implementing a multitude of counter measures such as chemical fumigation and disinfection spray tunnels. Most of these methods have no studies to back the claims and some of them have been proven to be ineffective. Ultraviolet light has been proven to be very effective against viruses and other microorganisms. Although the effectiveness is backed by many studies, most of the methods of delivery leave humans at risk of exposure.
