InnAccel's business model is based on "appropriate innovation"- i.e. technological innovation that is driven, and directed, by the customer's clinical requirements and resource constraints. We are deploying this approach in healthcare, where appropriate medical technologies can catalyse a transformation in healthcare outcomes in our country. Our model is scalable, given the fact that medical technology is a broad sector covering thousands of products. Thus the scope to scale to more products and into other clinical areas is immense, and will be limited only by our execution ability and capital constraints. Additionally, this approach of appropriate innovation can also be leveraged in other critical areas (transportation, agriculture, etc.)- this may represent another scalability path, which we may explore in later years. InnAccel is likely to create high-value, though low-volume, employment in our core area of research and product innovation. We will, however, catalyse, medium volume employment indirectly in areas like manufacturing (through our manufacturing partners), and product service and maintenance. The wealth creation potential of this venture is substantial. The Indian MedTech industry is estimated to be INR 50,000 crores today, growing at 15-20%, and is projected to cross INR 200,000 crores by 2025. Thus, capturing even a 0.1% share of this market with our portfolio of unique products implies a market potential of INR 200 crores annually, a significant wealth creation potential.
