Insanity Labs is a Mysore-based, deep tech startup, building solutions for elderly care and mental-health related disorders. We aim to build scalable solutions and services that combine neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and behavioral science to transform healthcare delivery for some of the most underserved populations. Our hero product, Maya-mind (https://www.maya-mind.com/), is a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) designed to identify, subtype and monitor dementia. Today, dementia diagnosis in India and globally faces significant challenges: high rates of misdiagnosis, delayed detection in early stages, and limited access to scalable, affordable, and accurate diagnostic tools. Maya-mind addresses these gaps by using smartphone-based eye-tracking, speech, and behavioral analytics to provide non-invasive, affordable, and clinically reliable biomarkers for dementia. What differentiates us is our deep-tech innovation. Maya-mind leverages a patent-pending methodology (Patent ID: JP2022/179766; WIPO: WO 2024/101230 A1) combining convolutional neural networks, deep learning, and classical machine learning to identify behavioral features and extract subtle neurocognitive markers. Unlike existing cognitive screening tools, Maya-mind enables dementia subtyping, a clinically critical step for guiding treatment. This innovation is supported by published peer-reviewed research and validated through ongoing multi-hospital clinical trials (MMCRI, JSS-AHER, and AIISH, Mysore). By reducing costs, improving early intervention, and enabling precision medicine, Insanity Labs contributes to better patient outcomes, lower caregiver burden, and new opportunities for employment and skill development in AI-healthcare. Through Maya-mind and future pipelines (on Depression, and Sleep), we aim to position India as a global leader in deep-tech innovation for neuropsychiatric care.
