According to reports, more than 10,000 people due on Indian roads every year, due to accidents caused by potholes and speed breakers. This does not include the non-fatal injuries as well as the financial losses caused due to unofficial speed breakers and potholes. These problems get magnified during monsoons and foggy season when spotting these on the roads becomes further difficult. At Intents Mobi, our endeavour is to make our roads safer. With this vision in mind, Intents Mobi launched a mobile application that can be installed on any phone. We utilise the sensor information from these phones to find out locations of potholes, speed breakers and rough patches on the roads. We are further working on using the same sensors to identify which roads have street lights. This is quite critical for women safety. Intents Mobi is driven by the community of drivers who use the application. We incentivise these drivers through monetary and non-monetary means to keep using our app and subsequently keep providing us this information. We using this information about road conditions to generate revenue as well by providing this data to mapping companies who can alerts users as they drive. This can lead to a significant reduction in the number of lives as the users get alerted ahead of time. We also intend to provide this information to Highway management companies and civic agencies so that they can identify degrading road conditions and can fix the issues before they become serious.
