IRIL FARMS PVT LTD IRIL is a one of a kind AgrItech company where we are focused on helping both farmers and our end customer. We are operating in F&V segment (Fruits and Vegetables) which are of perishable nature. We are disrupting the current F&V supply chain and solving the very basic problems that Indian farmers are facing. Our Prime Minister wishes to see the farmers income double as soon as possible but it is not possible unless farmer gets a fair price for his produce, is able to increase yield and knows which crops to sow for best returns. What are we doing? Farmer side problem : 1. Farmers stick to safe crops where MSP is guaranteed as prices of FnV see wide fluctuations. Most of the time, they don’t get appropriate value for their harvest. 2. Due to perishable nature, they are forced to accept low prices. Farmers do not have access to cold storage. 3. No one gives better prices in Mandi for a better quality product forcing farmers to resorts to unhygienic and unsustainable cultivation practices including excessive usage of chemicals and fertilisers. Some farmers using Organic practices or hydroponic techniques are not able to market the products. 4. They are unable to find a market/ buyer for off season and exotic variety of FnV which should be most rewarding. 5. They are dependent on payments from mandi agents which are delayed and some if it becomes bad debt. 6. Overall condition of farmers is deteriorating. Consumer side problem : 1. The urban consumers are not getting quality and fresh FnV produce at their doorstep. The FnV supply chain in India is broken and it results in longer lead time from farm to fork while adding undue costs of agents who don’t add any value. The quality of the produce also suffers due to lack of quality control in the entire supply chain. 2. There is no way for a consumer to know quality of produce including if excessive chemicals have been used. Some produce is available in the market as ‘Organic’ but no proof of such quality is verifiable. 3. Appropriate cold chain technology is not being used for transporting vegetables due to which upto 30% of the produce gets wasted thereby impacting prices. Helping Farmers - We are hand-holding the farmers and enriching them by the following: Identifying which crop to sow in which season . Classroom Training and Education to increase farmer yield . Recommend best quality Non GMO seeds and bio manure. Hand-holding throughout the season in their own fields during farming . Decreasing, if not eliminating, the use of pesticide . Creation of farm clusters to aggregate for bulk sales in advance Giving them a better rate than local mandis for their vegetables. 2. Reducing Vegetable Waste - We are using top of the line packaging techniques and technology right at the farm head so that the vegetable produce is packed in such a way that wastage during transportation from farm to our warehouse is minimal. 3. Professional Processing - We are setting up in-house fully automated processing plant which helps us perform the below functions Sorting of vegetables Grading the vegetables Cleaning the vegetables of pests and other products Other procedures to be added later 4. Quality Check - We are creating a technologically advanced quality checking procedure which will be able to check each and every vegetable for pests, nutrients, wax, additives, colors etc so that we are able to provide our customers with the best quality product. 5. Packaging - We will be packaging our produce in sustainable and biodegradable packaging so that the produce does not get hampered and stays away from any harmful components. 6. End Customer - We are only interested in providing top quality and nutritious vegetables to our customers. IRIL is synonymous with Quality and Fresh Produce with minimal chemicals.
