The Indian tattoo industry is largely unorganised and informally estimated to be valued at approximately INR 10,000 crore per annum, with an estimated annual growth rate of around 10%. Despite its size and growth, the industry lacks standardised discovery mechanisms, formal booking processes, and professional digital infrastructure, resulting in inefficiencies for customers and service providers. Customers currently rely on social media platforms or informal referrals to identify tattoo artists, which provides limited visibility into quality, hygiene standards, pricing, and availability. Tattoo artists and studios, in turn, depend on unstructured channels for demand generation, restricting consistent income and long-term business growth. InkSesh.com aims to organise and formalise this ecosystem through a centralised digital platform that offers verified listings, structured portfolios, location- and style-based discovery, and standardised consultation and booking workflows. In the long term, the startup intends to expand into adjacent segments within the tattoo ecosystem in India, including aggregation and formalisation of tattoo training academies, marketplaces for tattoo aftercare products, aggregation of tattoo removal and piercing services, and job boards for tattoo artists, tattoo removal specialists, and piercing specialists. The broader objective is to build a comprehensive, India-focused tech platform and ecosystem for tattoo-related services, products, and employment.
