The main issue that we want to solve is to create a better waste management ecosystem in India. The need for change in the waste management ecosystem is stark and compelling. Be it the change needed to protect the environment or the change needed to make this process more viable, both commercially and socially or just changing habits of individuals to be more environmentally aware. In the next 5 years India is expected to generate 6 million tonnes of e-waste and another 10 mn tonnes of plastic waste. Indiscriminate dumping is hazardous to environment with generation of CFCs, dioxins, Furons, heavy metals including mecury, lead, cadmium etc. Recycling is one of the largest employers in India. About 10 mn people across India are employed in the waste management sector, working in abject working conditions with life expectancy atleast 15 - 20 years lower than average Indian. Financial viability comes in the way of recyclers / employees to maintain working conditions and environmental compliances and this is the main issue that we want to solve. To create an eco system that will make all of them work in a financially viable manner Currently there are multiple players in the waste management ecosystem with different and often contrasting agendas • Waste generators (companies and individuals) – they are looking at how to dispose without much hassles • Rag pickers – they work in the informal sector with low pay and often in abject work conditions • Aggregators – again in informal sector and are often loan sharks • Recyclers – they need to comply to the environmental laws and often have non-compliance • Producers – being pushed by law to collect back wastes (EPR) Thus overall for the industry the ecosystem is fragmented and needs a way to ensure that all of the above collaborate in a sustainable way. The companies today are trying but they are stuck as they cannot meet their EPR regulations as they cannot find the right recyclers with adequate scale and they are in need of a solution that is scalable and they can trust. On the other hand the recyclers and aggregators are looking for more business so that they can scale, but cannot do that since they are in the informal sector. Jayde embarks on this journey to ensure that all of the stakeholders collaborate and are benefitted from it and makes this a long term, sustainable and commercially viable business. The need of the hour is to build an ecosystem of Waste Generators, Rag pickers, Aggregators and Recyclers that can provide efficient and timely services along with the mentioned features • Be able to recycle all materials including MLPs, Tetra packs, Metal coated plastics • Responsible recycling of batteries, compressors, acids & gases • Ability to track waste end to end and help Corporates meet their EPR obligations • Create a tradeable commodity for EPR with the audit trails. This is the problem that Jayde is solving through a platform where we bring together all the stakeholders on one platform. The ragpickers, the aggregators, the companies, the individuals, the recyclers, all of them and the waste generators list the waste (electronic, Paper, Plastic, Mixed) that they want to dispose and jayde finds the right partner who can come and collect the waste. Once the waste is picked the platform tracks the waste to ensure that it is recycled responsibly and uses block chain technology to do so. Jayde is An Easy to Use Platform that takes care of all recycling needs of Consumers and Businesses (both for Waste and EPR) and offers the following 1. Better Control: The Jayde business Dashboards provide businesses with reports to have a complete view of the business. Overall ensuring that we solve the problems with the ecosystem and also ensure that each party benefits from being on the platform.
