JCEE Renewable Energies LLP is a Bengaluru-based waste-to-energy startup converting spent coffee grounds and other organic residues into advanced renewable fuels that can directly replace fossil diesel. Founded after several years of self-funded R&D that began in 2020 and formally incorporated in 2025, the startup is aligned with India’s Net Zero and energy security goals by turning an unmanaged urban waste stream into a strategic low-carbon fuel resource. ​The startup has developed a proprietary process to produce renewable fuel from spent coffee grounds, validated at laboratory scale and successfully tested in a CRDI CI engine without any engine modification, demonstrating true “drop‑in” potential. The fuel has achieved a Cold Filter Plugging Point of −20°C, indicating suitability across a wide range of Indian climatic conditions and supporting potential use cases from road transport to aviation. In addition to the main fuel product, the process generates valuable hydrocarbon by‑products, including alkene fractions that can serve detergent and pharmaceutical industries, enabling multiple revenue streams from the same waste feedstock. ​JCEE Renewable Energies has received prima facie validation from MRPL for the suitability of its fuel pathway toward Sustainable Aviation Fuel, and the company has filed multiple patent applications to protect its process innovation. The current focus is to move from lab to pilot scale through decentralised 200–1,000 L/day units that can be replicated near major coffee waste generation hubs, creating local micro‑industries in waste-to-energy. By integrating waste management, fuel production and industrial by‑products, the startup aims to build a scalable model that supports circular economy principles, reduces emissions, and contributes to India’s emerging green fuel ecosystem
