18% of India’s fruits and vegetables get wasted annually – valued at ₹13,300 crore. The main reasons are lack of post harvest management like cold storage and processing of F&V into value added products. Jorasi Agro Pvt Ltd. aims to tackle this problem by creating products from fruits and vegetables. We will use Vacuum frying technology to convert raw F&V into crunchy snacks. Our products contain 90% actual F&V. This helps us to reduce wastage and increase shelf life. Teenagers who avoid vegetables due to lack of taste, can now enjoy vegetables in form of crunchy snacks. Because our products are fryed at low temperature, it helps to retain nutritional profile like vitamin and minerals in snack. For example Jackfruit and banana snack can act as good source of vitamin A and vitamin C. Through Jorasi Agro Pvt Ltd, we will procure F&V which are not acceptable in retail market due to uneven shape or colour. This will help us to increase income of farmers.
