With a primary focus on the extraction and processing of high-grade quartz sand, the company aims to set a benchmark in sustainable dredging and mineral beneficiation practices in India. JPL Silica Mining Private Limited proposes a sustainable, economically viable, and industrially beneficial solution to this challenge. The company plans to undertake the responsibility of removing the deposited sea sand from Azhikkal Harbour through scientifically approved dredging methods. Rather than treating this activity as a one-time expense, JPL Silica will process the dredged sand and extract commercially valuable minerals, primarily quartz sand. This project will involve a two-pronged approach: 1. Marine Dredging & Environmental Management: o Removal of deposited sand using ecologically safe dredging equipment. o Ensuring minimum disturbance to marine flora and fauna and adhering to Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) guidelines. o Clearing navigation paths for fishing boats, reducing risks and improving harbour utility. 2. Mineral Extraction & Processing: o Transporting dredged sand to a mineral processing unit. o Utilizing industrial processes such as wet sieving, hydro-cycloning, flotation, and magnetic separation to clean the sand and isolate quartz. o Ensuring clay, shells, and other organic waste are properly disposed of or recycled.
