Kairon Life Science Pvt. Ltd. is currently developing an innovative technology for the production of biodiesel. The current production process of biodiesel requires significant capital investment and result into high running costs for the plant. Kairon Life Science along with National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal has developed a new chemical reactor/technology that can substantially reduce the capital expenditure as well as the operational expenditure. Furthermore, the same reactor is capable of using diverse biodiesel feedstocks that can pose challenges in a typical biodiesel plant. This approach improves overall flexibility and minimizes waste products. The initial prototype in the lab has undergone testing and is capable of synthesizing biodiesel at a high yield. The quality of the biodiesel satisfies the major specifications required for commercial biodiesel use. Since the desired result has been achieved in the lab multiple times, the next step involves establishing a pilot project for producing biodiesel. Once the pilot project is successful, the final step would involve setting up a large scale biodiesel plant.
