Climate change has started affecting the rain cycle. People who will be most affected by this calamity will be farmers. As per a warning from United nations, 57% of India will face ground water calamity in year 2025. Desilting large lakes and dams will improve percolation and increase ground water recharge. KEVAT FOUNDATION is a social enterprise (not-for-profit Section 8 company) that deploys smart robotic dredgers to desilt lakes, ponds and dams and helps farmers harvest more water for irrigation. KEVAT FOUNDATION is also deploying solar powered water treatment systems that will help recycle grey water discharged from villages and make it available for irrigation and cattle. Technologies and processes deployed by KEVAT FOUNDATION will help Govt of India reduce their desilting cost by more than 40% and enable deployment of multiple machines across the country. KEVAT Foundation is also introducing a compact, portable and affordable water disinfection system for villages. This unit will disinfect 99.99% bacteria and viruses in just 5 minutes and allow drinking water to be used without boiling. This unit will help reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions too.
