KK Organics (Kewal Krishan Organics Private Limited | CIN: U56100UT2026PTC020969) is an Uttarakhand-based clean energy startup incorporated in March 2026, pioneering the conversion of Himalayan Chir Pine needle waste into high-density biomass briquettes. Located at Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag — at the heart of the Kedarnath Yatra corridor — KK Organics addresses two pressing challenges simultaneously: the catastrophic forest fires that destroy thousands of hectares of Garhwal Himalaya every summer due to accumulated pine needle litter, and the dependence of hill communities and tourism businesses on costly, carbon-intensive coal and LPG. Through a binder-free, dry-mechanical densification process, KK Organics produces BIS IS 15866-grade briquettes (3,800–4,200 kcal/kg; <0.1% sulphur), serving hotels along the Char Dham Yatra route, industrial boilers, brick kilns, and eco-resorts. The business model integrates 100–120 SHG women as pine needle collectors, creating formalized livelihoods aligned with the Lakhpati Didi Mission, while displacing an estimated 1,080 MT of CO₂e annually at Year 1 capacity. With a total project cost of ₹50 lakhs, a projected IRR of ~32%, and a break-even at just 26.1% of installed capacity, KK Organics delivers strong financial returns alongside measurable ecological and social impact — making it a replicable model for all Chir Pine-dominated Himalayan districts across India.
