KPRS ENTERPRISES (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED, We are manufacturers of readymade garments like, lower, halfpant, tshirts, tracksets etc. we basically work on hosiery textiles. Weaving, one of the most creative and traditional occupations. As per the 4th All India Handloom Census (2019-20), there are 26,73,891 handloom weavers and 8,48,621 allied workers in the country. Most of the weavers although creative, talented and hardworking in nature get paid less, they sometimes have a good business and sometimes not. In this VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) world, weavers are more at a disadvantage than any other self-employed workers group. This is because the weavers are less exposed to the contemporary ways of conducting business and modern way of selling. In the sales process of traditional weaves, the middle man in the value chain takes away most of the earnings/commissions. Even though the customer likes and appreciates the saree and the work of the weaver. He / She buys the weave/saree from the middle man. Consequently, in most of the cases THE WEAVER is the person who either ends up making a loss or a marginal profit. The connectivity gap and the lack of exposure to digital channels among weavers/ weaving community is one of the major reasons for this as they have to depend on intermediaries for market access. What would happen if the work of weavers are digital presented and there is no middle man between the weavers and the customer? Or we have a scenario where the intermediary represents the cause of the weavers and the objective is to promote the weave and provide the much-needed market access (and less commercial).
