Printing inks play important & crucial role in packaging industry, a high growth industry with Growth rate of 9% CAGR, the 5th largest sector of India's economy involving technology and innovation. In MAKE IN INDIA campaign, the growth of various industries is increasing, and, the packaging segment will further grow and as a cascading effect it is imperative that the scale of our business will increase further. Printing is widely used on packaging to pass on mandatory products information, to decorate objects, requiring printing to be done on different surfaces ranging from aluminum foil to plastic films to paper. Special inks are being developed for different substrates. Regular upgradation/innovations in technology are need of the hour for a clean environment. In current scenario of environmental pollution & global warming we strive hard to work towards innovation of eco-friendly inks. The focus of our innovation will be promoting non toxic lead free organic/herbal colours. Resultant innovations will help curb/reduce environmental pollution caused due to VOC based inks. During printing, there is generation of Ammonia, VOC, noise, dust, heat leaving negative impact on the atmosphere. Conventional inks use solvents made from volatile organic compounds, a major source of air pollution. Ink manufacturers are developing water/castor oil based inks to eliminate VOCs. Similarly, water-washable ink systems eliminate petroleum-based solvents and avoid VOC emissions. Hence we too intend to contribute a bit in this direction with further innovations.
